A Transformative Gift: Give Something Back Celebrates a Milestone
At Give Something Back, we are passionate about creating opportunities for deserving students, and our recent collaboration with the National Auto Body Council, Travelers Insurance, and Gerber Collision and Glass has given us a powerful reason to celebrate.
In a heartwarming event at Gerber Collision and Glass, Ashley Avila, one of our scholarship recipients, experienced a life-changing moment thanks to the collective efforts of these organizations. The National Auto Body Council, representing the entire auto body repair industry, orchestrated the donation of a reliable vehicle to Ashley.
This initiative beautifully brought together repairers like Gerber Collision, insurers like Travelers, OEM producers, and suppliers, showcasing the extraordinary impact that can be achieved through collective generosity.
Travelers Insurance expressed their honor in being part of this significant blessing for Ashley. Since 2007, Travelers has donated an impressive 50 vehicles, firmly believing in the transformative power of providing reliable transportation. The company sees this program as a catalyst for positive change, having already touched the lives of hundreds of individuals.
Dr. Amy Young, Co-President of Give Something Back, shared the story of how this journey began in 2017 when she was offered an opportunity by Bob Carr to start a chapter in Southern California. Recruiting students who had experienced foster care, homelessness, or the incarceration of a parent, the program aims to change lives through education and support. Dr. Young expressed deep appreciation for the generosity of all involved, emphasizing how this gift would tremendously impact Ashley's life.
The video captures the emotional moment when Ashley receives the keys to her first-ever car. Representatives from Travelers and Gerber Collision and Glass were also honored with the Giving Heart award from Give Something Back in recognition of their outstanding generosity.
Ashley, visibly moved, expressed heartfelt thanks, stating that owning a car was a dream come true. She pledged to remember and appreciate each person who played a part in making this dream a reality.
This heartwarming collaboration between Give Something Back, the National Auto Body Council, Travelers Insurance, and Gerber Collision and Glass exemplifies the incredible impact that can be achieved when organizations join forces to make a positive difference in the lives of deserving individuals. We extend our sincere gratitude to all involved for their generosity, compassion, and commitment to changing lives through education and support. Together, we truly can change the world with a giving heart.
