Overcoming Fears and Building Team Spirit at UCR Riverside - Give Something Back
On May 11th, over 65 Give Something Back students gathered at UCR Riverside for an unforgettable day of personal growth and team-building activities. Sponsored by the generous Optimist Club of Redlands, this event aimed to push students out of their comfort zones while fostering a sense of community and resilience.
The day was packed with exciting activities, including an obstacle course and a challenging ropes course. Students were encouraged to face their fears, with many bravely taking on new heights and overcoming personal obstacles. The supportive atmosphere was palpable, as participants cheered each other on and provided a safety net of encouragement and camaraderie.
Kendra, a dedicated scholar on a Give Something Back scholarship to Chapman University, shared her reflections on the event. She highlighted the immense value of stepping out of her comfort zone and the importance of teamwork. The event reinforced the lesson that success often requires the support and encouragement of others.
The Optimist Club of Redlands played a crucial role in making this day possible. Their sponsorship allowed the students to experience a day filled with growth, laughter, and unforgettable memories. The event at UCR Riverside was a testament to the power of community, resilience, and the incredible potential of young minds when given the opportunity to thrive.
